Homemade, Natural Night Nurse Recipe

It happened! 😱 We caught a cold! 🤒

But as my mum always says: "There is no single bad thing in this world, that doesn't also have a good side...".
There is so much truth to this - in all imaginable ways - but especially when it comes to having a cold or flu.
Your body is fighting these germs, bacteria & viruses on a 24/7 basis, so it's no wonder every now and then one creeps through
and settles. The key is to recognise early that "something isn't quite right" and give your immune system some additional help.
Long story short, we've been looking for a extra-punch that's natural & extremely effective in aiding cold / flu symptoms
during our main restorative phase: at nights when we fully rest! And here's the outcome (and relief to a good night's sleep):

Homemade, Natural Night Nurse

This solution is not only way cheaper, but also doesn't contain paracetamol as it's 100% natural. It does contain Nutmeg though and while it's deemed safe for children of 6 months & upwards, please ensure you consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

For about 8 teacup sized servings, simply boil
- 15 bay leaves,
- 3 cinnamon sticks,
- 1 tablespoon of cloves,
- 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns,
- 5cm (or a big chunk) of fresh ginger root and
- 1/4 of a nutmeg (grated)

in 2 litres of water. Keep simmering this on a low heat for up to 3 hours before you add the juice of 2 lemons.
Strain the mixture & drink as warm as possible. Store in a cool, dry place for up to a week.
