Vegan Raw Flu Shots

Get yourself ready for the Cold & Flu Season with one of these daily

Vegan Raw Flu Shots

They’re easy to make and will give you that extra immune boosting kick
you’ll need in these coming months!

The “shots” comprise of a glass of nutritious fruit & veg, blended into a true Vitamin-and Mineral Bomb. That said, you’ll be able to make this in any blender, however, we’re using a Breville Blend Active – which works a treat for shakes & smoothies like this one!

The basis for 2 glasses include:

• 40g (big chunk) of fresh Ginger, peeled
-> anti-flammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial
• 1 clove of Garlic, peeled
-> anti-bacterial, anti-biotical & anti-viral properties
• Juice of 1 pressed Orange and 1 pressed Lemon
-> full of vitamin C, anti-bacterial
• 2 Celery sticks, roughly chopped
-> source of potassium & supports hydration
• Hand-full of Spinach
-> source of K- and B-vitamins, minerals & fibre (to flush out these germs!)
• 1 green Apple, roughly chopped
-> aids digestion & source of A- and C-vitamins
• 200-300ml Cranberry Juice
-> full of B-, C- and E-vitamins as well as antioxidants
• 1 Teaspoon of Wheatgrass Powder
-> so called “superfood” (packed with vitamins & minerals!) & supports alleviation of inflammation
• 1 Teaspoon of Chia Seeds
->      full of anti-oxidants & Omega-3 Fatty Acids (mood booster!)

And if you don’t mind it hot (optional):
• ½ red Chili, chopped
-> capsaicin supports pain reduction (e.g. onset of throat aches)

Add all ingredients into your mixer & blend thoroughly.
You can add more juice or some water if you prefer the “shots” to be more liquid.

Feel free to adapt this recipe as you wish and to your taste! You can exchange all fruit & vegetable items as you please e.g. instead of Celery you could add peeled & roughly chopped Beetroot, instead of Spinach you could add Kale and instead of an Apple you can use Banana etc. … The Juice is interchangeable as well, so don’t hesitate to be adventurous and maybe add coconut water instead!

Also, if you suffer from irritable bowel syndrome or similar, get rid of the orange juice and instead use the juice of 2 lemons (lemons, unlike common belief, are alkalizing and can therefore help support the work of stomach acid in a positive way!).
Also, you might want to take a rain-check on the chili in that case.

Enjoy !!!
